Marks autocorrection for outstripping items

This parameter defines the behavior of StartThis and StartNext marks for two or more adjacent items in schedule. Basically, this option is intended to treat the situation when StartThis mark of the next item is longer than the duration of the previous item. The setting can be found at the Service menu:

Global Settings\Other\Schedule\Outstripping item marks autocorrection

The parameter may take one of the following options:

  • Off
  • Correct previous items marks (Default value)
  • Limit outstripping item StartThis
  • Clear outstripping item StartThis

NB: After changing this option all the applications that work with the same ROOT directory have to be restarted to provide the same results of mark autocorrection.

For example, there is an item with clear marks in the schedule: sfx in. New item named sfx filler is being placed between them in the schedule. It is marked in the followind way:

Description

Crossfade display

Off

After an item with long StartThis placed next to a short item in the schedule, the marks of the items keep their positions. All the crossfades will be calculated as it was intended by items' marking.

Therefore, there can be a situation where some items with long StartThis marks should start playing before one or more previous items. It may be an issue for some players (777 or old versions of x-player), because they load items consistently, one after another (and their marks too).

We do not recommend turning autocorrection off if 777-player is used at the complex.

Correct previous items marks (Default)

After an item with long StartThis placed next to a short item in the schedule, the marks of the both elements are being corrected. StartThis mark of the outstripping item resets and StartNext mark of the previous item calculates to provide the crossfade as it was intended by items' marking.

The correction applies to all the items which StartNext marks fall into the StartThis zone of added item. It was made to allow some players (for example, 777) correctly air the schedule if the start of one item is earlier than the start of one or more previous items. The correction applies also if item's propertions were edited in schedule, crossfade was edited, or at any event that affects schedule marking.

Limit outstripping item StartThis

When the item sfx filler with long StartThis mark is added after sfx in, the StartThis mark of sfx filler will be limited to provide simultaneous start of the both elements.
